Calendula, Pot Marigold, Calendula officinalis
Calendula, or pot marigold is a popular annual that is grown for its daisy or chrysanthemum-like bright orange flowers which bloom all summer into fall. This cheery plant is an Old World potherb and garden plant that was popular in Shakespeare’s England and is still valued as a medicinal and cosmetic herb. Plant grows 1-2’ in height. Although the flowers and leaves are bitter, they are edible and may be added to soups and salads.
