Great St. John's Wort, Hypericum pyramidatum (aka Hypericum ascyron)

$2.50

Also known as Giant St. John's Wort or Hypericum ascyron, this tall, herbaceous native perennial has large, attractive bright yellow flowers. Its leaves are larger than common St. John's Wort. It prefers full sun to light shade and moist conditions, but will adapt to a variety of soil conditions, including loam, clay-loam, and rocky soil. Very easy to grow! Showy flowers are attractive to bumblebees and several smaller bees and insects. Foliage can be somewhat toxic to mammals, who avoid it because it causes upset of the gastrointestinal tract. 50 seeds/2.50, 1/4 oz./5.50, 1/2 oz./10.00.
