Stunning perennial native to the Eastern U.S., ironweed is named for its strong stem that holds the plant upright to up to six feet tall. Glowing purple flowers sit atop the plant from late summer to early fall. Ironweed thrives in a moist, sunny area but is tolerant of part sun. Deer resistant and excellent for the back of a border.
